Los Curriches

There is some terrific mountain biking to be had in the Axarquia Sierras and Montes de Malaga parks, just inland from the Costa del Sol.

Just 1 kilometre from Los Curriches is the Montes de Malaga Parque Natural. This undiscovered gem is the closest park to the city of Malaga, and yet it could be a million miles away from the city as almost no-one seems to go there! There are dozens of dirt tracks within the park which are perfect for mountain biking - with the added bonus that you'll probably spend all day in the park without seeing a single car! Indeed, most of the dirt tracks are actually inaccessible to cars so bikes are by far the best way of seeing the park.
Once in the park, there are a wide selection of routes to follow, from relatively flat, short loops on the dirt tracks, to more adventurous 50 km routes which drop down into the valleys before climbing back up to the mountain tops, with spectacular views down to the coast. For those of you that like their cycling rough, some of the routes are on narrow trails that zigzag through the undergrowth, rather than on broad dirt tracks.

We can provide detailed maps and directions on all the routes in the park (and to a couple of the local bars which are just outside the park!). We have good quality mountain bikes to hire, but it is advisable to book these in advance to ensure availability (see the Prices section of the website for more details).
