Los Curriches

Los Curriches self catering villa accommodation offers the perfect holiday in Andalucia, Spain.

The property is an impressive 17th century lagar (a presshouse, originally for pressing grapes but more recently used for olives), set in 37,000 square metres of olive and almond groves surrounded by peaceful and unspoilt countryside:

In February the almond groves come alive with the pink and white almond blossom. In Spring the wildflowers are spectacular, covering the hillside with fields of poppy and sweet pea, and a host of exotic blooms such as orchids. The trees are also filled with bird life at this time of year, so avid bird watchers should bring binoculars.

If you just want to relax at Los Curriches during your stay and you do not want to hire a car, as mentioned on the Prices page, we can do your food shopping for you so you don't need to go out shopping. You can get to the local village of Colmenar from the airport using the regular bus service (we can email you the up to date timetables). We will then pick you up from Colmenar. And of course, you can always get a taxi to and from the airport if you prefer.

“Curriches” doesn't mean anything in Spanish, but the property has been called Los Curriches for more than 400 years, therefore it took no time at all for us to decide to keep this name.

We do all that we can to be eco-friendly at Los Curriches. We have put two sets of plumbing into the properties so that we can recycle the bath/shower water to re-use on our gardens. We use only recycled water to irrigate the gardens, never fresh water. The swimming pool is covered at night in order to reduce the overnight evaporation of water from the pool. And we use solar panels to provide the property with a very environmentally friendly supply of hot water for the majority of the year.
