Granada is a “must see” city and it can be reached from our gay owned villas in just over an hour.
Granada boasts the famous Alhambra palace, the cobbled streets of the Moorish quarter and the spectacular backdrop of the snow-capped Sierra Nevada mountains. The main reason for most people to visit Granada is the Alhambra palace. This massive collection of 14th and 15th century Moorish palaces and gardens is set on a hilltop overlooking the rest of the city.
But note that the Alhambra Palace is so popular that visitor numbers are limited to 7700 a day. With many tickets booked in advance, you must turn up early to get your ticket, otherwise you might find yourselves turned away or only being granted access very late in the day. We would recommend that you book your tickets before coming to Spain - see www.alhambra-patronato.es for details.
The old Moorish quarter of the city is also a huge tourist draw. The
narrow cobbled streets have barely changed in over 600 years. And it is
worth climbing to the Church of San Nicholas for the stunning views of
the Alhambra palace and its gardens.
