Trips to Ronda from our gay owned apartments in the Axarquia region of Spain are possible.
Although Ronda is slightly more difficult to get to than some of the other places described on these pages (it's mostly via small A-roads rather than motorways so it takes 105-120 minutes to reach), it still has to be high up on your places to visit because of THE bridge! This stunning bridge was finished in 1793, is almost 100 metres high and took 32 years to complete. If you are feeling energetic enough, the best place to view the bridge from is from below it - there is a track leading down to a viewing point from the west of the town, but it is quite steep!
But apart from the bridges spanning the gorge, Ronda is also famous for its bullring - one of the oldest in Spain. The bullring itself is a wonderful building but it also contains a museum containing costumes and photographs of its most famous bullfighters.
As with most Spanish towns, there are shaded plazas, glorious churches, museums, Roman ruins, Arabic bath houses, and fortified walls around the old town. But there are also spectacular walks along the edge of the gorge and down into the river gorge on both sides of the town.
